The group performed the piece ‘Inis Oírr’ in the Instrumental Music section of the competition.
The team had been taking time out of their lunch breaks in recent weeks to prepare and really enjoyed the experience in Bruff.
It is always a nice experience for the boys and girls and a great way to support our efforts to renew our Active School Flag status.
Mrs Murphy’s third class have been very busy since they returned to school. Here are some photos of some of their activities:
In this experiment we investigated the impact of salt on ice. We placed ice cubes in a tin can, laid the string on the ice, added salt and after approximately one minute we pulled the string out of the water with all the ice cubes attached.
When salt is sprinkled over the ice, it lowers the ice’s freezing point and causes it to melt. Water around the ice forms and then the string sinks into the ice.
Junior and senior infants performed The Sleepy Shepherd, 1st & 2nd class performed Stable Manners and 3rd class performed A Very Mixed Up Christmas. Congratulations to all the boys and girls, all their hard work over the past couple of months was clear to see for everyone who attended the shows.
Sincere thanks to all the parents, guardians and extended school community who supported the production of the shows and helped with the raffle.
Thank you also to the school staff who worked hard on the preparations and in the production of all elements of the matinee and evening shows.
Each of the sixth players did very well in what was their first game of handball outside of PE lessons in school. Three of the players were medal winners as the school collected a silver medal in the Roinn B girls division and bronze and silver medals in the Roinn B boys division.
All sixth were excellent representatives for the school at the event.
