ESB Science Blast 2019

Fourth Class exhibited the results of their project at the 2019 ESB Science Blast in Mary Immaculate College today.

The project, which investigated ‘Which spuds cook the best?, was highly praised by the ESB Science Blast judges and the pupils were busy fielding questions on their study throughout the day from the many visitors to the stand.

The children also got to enjoy some of the activities on offer at the science fair including science demonstrations and VR technology experiences.

Limerick Primary Schools Athletics

Over 40 pupils from the school took part in the Limerick Primary Schools Athletics in UL on Thursday.

With strong performances in all events our boys and girls did fantastically well in this team based competition. The boys team placed second in their category while the girls finished third. Both teams were only a handful of points away from higher placings. Huge credit is due to both teams who gave every race or long jump 100% in a outing where a lot of waiting is involved before participation. Well done to all!

Herbertstown NS Pupils in action for South Limerick

Congratulations to Lauren & Aoibhinn who won the Neville Cup with South Limerick yesterday!

South Limerick – Neville Cup Winners 2019

South Limerick defeated Limerick City on a scoreline of 1.05 to 0.03. Well done to our girls who join past pupil Aisling Farrell as the sole holders of Neville Cup medals from Herbertstown NS.

Earlier in the week, Liam & Seán were in action for the boys in the Mackey Cup. The South were looking for a fourth title in a row but this was a bridge too far as they bowed out in the semi-final.

South Limerick Panel – Mackey Cup 2019

We are very proud of our pupils who represented our school with such distinction.

Herbertstown NS Athletics

Pupils take part in races ahead of Limerick Primary School Sports (athletics) in UL.

Pupils from 1st – 6th took part in a series of races yesterday. The quality of running and the determination showed by the pupils was really fantastic to see. Congratulations to the boys and girls who will now go to represent the school in next week’s event in the University of Limerick.

For an added bit of drama, check out these slow-mo videos of some of the race finishes!
