Star Awards – September

Congratulations to our Star Award winners for September!

One pupil from each classroom was selected by their class teacher and the award winners were presented with certificates at today’s assembly. They were also given a night off homework for their efforts!

Boys Qualify for Final

Well done to our boys football team who have qualified for their Cumann na mBunscol final.

The team played 3 games this morning in Martinstown. Two hard earned wins from games against Knockainey NS and Athlacca NS were enough to secure a place in the Roinn B decider in a fortnight’s time. They will face Ballylanders NS who had the upper hand in our game today.

Fun with Conkers

Conkers & the Horse Chestnut Tree

Third & Fourth class pupils enjoyed learning about Horse Chestnut Trees during science today and had an opportunity to try a game of conkers.

The conkers were kindly donated by a pupil in third class.

Thank you to everyone who supported ‘Welly Wednesday’ in Herbertstown NS yesterday.

€259.35 was raised for Clíona’s Foundation, CARI Limerick and the Children’s Ark including Neonatal Unit at University Hospital Limerick.

Pedal to the Peak

The Pedal to the Peak committee are delighted to announce the fantastic results of our June fundraiser.

Monies fundraised:         €38,990

Expenses:                  €2,355

Charity donations:   €4,000 (€2,000 to Clíona’s Foundation & €2,000 to CMRF Crumlin)

Net to school:            €32,635

We could not have achieved this amazing total without the involvement and dedication of so many people. Huge thank you again to the 8 cyclists and 40 hikers who participated in the event, to family, friends and sponsors for donating so generously and to the P2TP committee for all their hard work behind the scenes.

Pedal to the Peak

Our Pedal to the Peak fundraising event took place last weekend and was a fantastic success.

Our team of 8 completed the challenge of travelling from the lowest point in Ireland (the North Slob in County Wexford) to the highest point (Carrauntoohil) in 16 hours and 40 minutes. This was the first time that this challenge was ever attempted!

When they reached the top of Carrauntoohil shortly before 2 o’clock on Saturday they found 42 familiar faces waiting for them as many parents, staff and friends of the school also climbed Ireland’s highest peak on the same day.

It was a great occasion for all and thank you to everyone that was part of making Pedal to the Peak such a success.

Sports Day 2018

An action packed Sports Day took place last week and it was The Frogs who claimed the team trophy for 2018!

Congratulations also to the winners of our finals which were played on the same day. Hard luck to our runners up in what were very close games.
