First & Second Class were busy preparing entries for the GAA’s Seachtain na Gaeilge competition where they had to create a poster about their GAA hero.
A broad range of heroes could be seen from Limerick players, club coaches and even Marty Morrissey!
but due to Covid 19 and social distance, we need to stay away.
No games, no cheer, no clash of the ash,
But in 2021, we will be back.
Today we will mark the occasion at home and remember
the memories we hold dear.
A secret glint in our eye knowing the Cup is inHerbertstown for another year.
We will be back but for today we remember with a smile
the year of 2020 when the tournament had to be paused for a while.
Christian – 5th Class
Pupils create artwork to mark, what would have been, the Anthony Baggott Cup 2020.
At this stage in June, we would usually be preparing for what is one of the biggest days in the school year, the staging of the Anthony Baggott Cup in Herbertstown. Unfortunately, like many other school events, it will not take place this year.
Normally, we would ask pupils to contribute artwork for the programme which is distributed on the day. This was one element which could continue.
Our pupils were invited to submit artwork for posting on the school website and they rose to the challenge – check out the gallery below to see some fantastic work!
Our boys team travelled to Martinstown today to participate in the South Indoor Hurling blitz.
The boys lost to a strong Hospital NS side in the opening game but followed this with a draw against Bruree NS and wins against Ballylanders NS and Athlacca NS. Well done boys.
Attention now turns to the camogie which takes place next Tuesday.
On Wednesday the 4th December the girls in 6th Class left for Kilmallock school to play basketball. When we arrived we got on our bibs and then went and played against Mitchelstown. We won that game by 1 basket. After that we went and played Hospital. We won that match by 8 baskets. In the end we won all our matches, we really enjoyed our day.
