Congratulations to all our pupils on their great performances in the races!
A 44 strong team departed for the University of Limerick this morning for the Limerick Primary School Athletics.
Our boys and girls teams participated in events like the 100, 200 and 400 metres as well as the long jump and a series of relays. The girls team performed admirably in a keenly contested category. The boys category was equally close with the result going down to the very last race. In a nail biting finish our over 12 relay team produced a fantastic team display to secure first place. Massive congratulations to every boy and girl who took part, they did their school proud.
The pupils of Herbertstown NS joined other choirs from the mid west and the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland last night for Peace Proms Limerick 2017.
In a spectacular show, the audience were treated to some classic songs which included Heal the World, You’re the Voice, Best Day of My Life and Ireland’s Call. The orchestra also performed versions of the Star Wars theme and a medley of 90s Dance tracks.
It was a truly memorable night and the children did the school proud.
Well done to everyone who participated in the U.L. Sport Kids Run and the Great Limerick Run. The school was very well represented between pupils, staff and family members taking part. A huge thank you also to our pupils who, thanks to their participation in the kids run, raised €245 for the school!
The INTO Mini Sevens team represented the South in UL where they narrowly lost out to Doon CBS and Milford NS and picked up a convincing win against Courtenay NS. Thanks to the great performance, Adam Boyle will get to be a referee in a mini-sevens game in Croke Park at half time during the All Ireland hurling semi-final in August.
